Data Use Policy

Thank you for visiting the NIH Integrative Human Microbiome Project (iHMP) site. This site does not collect personal information about users. We do, however, store information automatically collected by common web metrics and analytics, or if you choose to voluntarily provide information to us (see below).

Information Automatically Collected and Stored

When you browse through any website, certain information can be collected. We automatically collect and store the following information about your visit:

  • The date and time of your visit.
  • The length of your visit.
  • The pages you visited or materials you downloaded.
  • The address of the site you came from when you arrived at our site.

We use this information for statistical purposes and to help make our site more useful to visitors. Unless it is specifically stated otherwise, no additional personal information will be collected.

Personally Provided Information

You do not have to give us personal information to visit our site. If you choose to provide additional information about yourself through an email message, form, conference or software registration form, etc., we will maintain the information only to respond to your question or to fulfill the stated purpose of the communication.

Disclosure

The iHMP does not disclose, give, sell or transfer any information about its visitors, unless required for law enforcement or by statute.
